Hope
Sundays of Advent
The four Advent Sundays are probably the best series with themes that summarize our pillars as Christians. We start off every Catholic year with hope and as Christians, hope is our strength. We rejoice in hope and wait for the Coming of our Lord at Christmas and at His second coming.
In our daily lives, we hold onto the hope that something better or more rewarding awaits us in the future. Hoping to find a delicious lunch, hoping the day doesn’t stress us, hoping our struggles eventually pay off. There’s a long list of things to hope for, and the grace to stand patiently in hope is a gift. I’ve always thought that the fastest way to hit rock bottom is to stop hoping, or to kill the hope for better days.; while the best way to live is to rejoice in hope. Being able to understand the current situation, but hanging on to the hope that things will get better.
This Sunday, reminds me of the need to stay joyful and be filled with hope and I hope it has the same effect on you.
